Wednesday, November 20: Leaf drop began in ernest with the arrival of November and is now largely complete in the park with the exceptions of some oaks and the willows along the creek.

Paul Pratt, Tom Hince and Bruce Di Labio were successful at the Space Coast Flyway Festival's birding competition this past weekend in Florida! Their team won the advanced adult competitive category with 150 species. The event was tough this year because it poured rain for almost the entire weekend. This is the fourth time the Canadian team has won the event.

Fox Sparrows have been seen in good numbers lately with 8 along the Prairie Path on November 13 (Karen Cedar) and 7 along the same trail on November 18 (Fred Urie). Three were visiting our feeders on November 17.
